The next morning, Yu Hong took anti-inflammatory medicine over to the post office.
It wasn’t even ten o'clock yet when he spotted Old Li talking quietly with Zhou Xueguang by the stone house.
This made Yu Hong frown.
“Old Li,” he called softly.
Li Runshan looked up and waved his hand. “You’re just in time. I’ve just taken Old Zhou to choose a cave. We’re discussing the troubles on the front lines. Now that you’re here, let’s listen together.” Li Runshan’s expression was no longer his usual playful grin; instead, he seemed somewhat serious.
“Where’s the Eye of Many Birds? Why is it standing outside?” Yu Hong walked closer, entering the courtyard.
“The attacks from the Eye of Many Birds usually come in waves of one to three. If they keep failing, they’ll quickly change their target. I heard from Old Li about the patterns of the previous attacks; it’s likely that the Eye of Many Birds won’t come back anytime soon.” Zhou Xueguang, after a night’s rest, appeared to be in much better shape, and his injuries had been well treated, with white bandages wrapped around him.
“Then why do you all look so grim?” Yu Hong asked, furrowing his brow.
