In front of an emergency exit on the west side of the museum, Duncan rushed out with Nina and Shirley. As the fresh air and bright sunlight hit them, Shirley couldn't help but cheer first, "Yay! We made it out!"
Duncan glanced at the girl, but before he could say anything, he suddenly felt the young woman on his back stir slightly. After the fresh air and the bumps along the way, she finally woke up.
Duncan quickly found a spot nearby and gently set her down.
Heidi slowly regained consciousness. Her head throbbed as if someone had hit her with a brick, and she felt discomfort in her lungs from inhaling a bit of smoke. This was the first thing she noticed as her awareness returned. Then, she suddenly opened her eyes and started coughing violently.
After the chaos and her intense coughing, she realized she had been rescued—she was outside the museum, surrounded by bright sunlight and fresh air, with a few figures in front of her.
