Seeing the rabbit crawl in, Jiang Hao was quite surprised. He found it amusing that the rabbit was still after the collar. This little creature had gone through so much just to get the collar, but unfortunately, its owner couldn't even protect himself.
But soon, Jiang Hao realized that the rabbit had sneaked in without anyone knowing. "How did you get in?" Jiang Hao asked. The place wasn't strictly guarded, but not something a mid-Foundation Stage rabbit could casually come and go from.
"I saw a window and just climbed in," the rabbit said nonchalantly as it landed on the ground. "The formations gave Lord Rabbit a bit of face and didn't raise the alarm."
Jiang Hao found this amusing. "How did the formations give you face?"
Whether it was about face or not didn't matter; what mattered was that the rabbit had indeed come through the formations. "Like this," the rabbit said, jumping as a layer of white mist covered it, then vanished from Jiang Hao's sight.
This surprised Jiang Hao, and he reached out to grab behind his head. The rabbit trying to sneak attack was caught by the ears. The rabbit didn't struggle, knowing how terrifying Jiang Hao could be.
"What is this?" Jiang Hao asked, holding the rabbit in front of him.
The rabbit crossed its arms, hanging in the air, and said, "It's the great thing I wanted to tell you about yesterday."
A great thing? Jiang Hao remembered it but hadn’t paid much attention. He didn’t expect the rabbit to have such an ability.
The rabbit's appearance made him think of many things. Perhaps there were other paths he could choose. After a moment of hesitation, he activated his Divine Ability.
Appraisal.
[Deceptive Beast Rabbit: Possessing sufficient spiritual intelligence, with mid-Foundation Stage cultivation, recently comprehended the innate Divine Ability 'Conceal from Heaven and Cross the Sea,' which reduces presence and deceives simple formation restrictions and people's senses. Contains hidden deeper Deceptive Beast bloodline, feeding it a hundred spirit stones daily can further awaken the hidden bloodline in forty-nine days. Feeding with spirit stones daily increases its goodwill toward you; it currently holds you in awe.]
A Divine Ability that hides its presence? Jiang Hao found it quite fitting for the Deceptive Beast Rabbit. However, the ability's level was not high and could only trick simple formations and weaker senses. So while it could enter safely, exiting unharmed was not guaranteed.
"Master, look, the collar has cracked a bit more," the rabbit said, showing its neck collar with a pleading look. "Could you buy me a new one?"
Putting the rabbit down, Jiang Hao was silent for a while, finally sighing as if making a decision, "I recall you wanted a storage artifact a couple of days ago."
"Yes, it's here," the rabbit pointed to an iron ring on the collar. "Cheng Chou gave me some face and bought it for me."
"It does suit you," Jiang Hao said, unable to help but marvel.
Returning home, Jiang Hao could guide the rabbit a bit; ordinary storage artifacts weren't too valuable but were extremely costly for someone on the outer path.
"Will anyone notice if you leave?" Jiang Hao asked.
The rabbit responded nonchalantly, "Even if they do, it doesn't matter. The folks around here are easy to talk to."
Jiang Hao chuckled, not giving the rabbit any pressure, but instead taking its storage artifact to put many things from his storage artifact into it.
The ring’s space was too small to fit much, but most unusual items could fit.
Afterwards, he handed the ring back to the rabbit. "Go, and don't let anyone see what's inside the ring. Once I get out, I'll buy you that collar."
"Really?" The rabbit took the ring, face lighting up with joy.
Jiang Hao nodded seriously. "Yes, but there's a condition — don’t get caught."
"You can count on me, Lord Rabbit is invincible," the rabbit said, exceptionally eager.
"By the way, remember to hide the ring somewhere no one is around after you get out. I'll tell you when to bring it back," Jiang Hao added one last instruction.
The rabbit readily agreed and then darted out of the window, vanishing from Jiang Hao's sight.
Watching the rabbit leave, Jiang Hao's heart was anything but calm, because he ultimately chose the rabbit.
Neither that woman nor Liu Xingchen, nor using the Nine Revolutions Death Substitution was the best option. Perhaps that woman was the safest, but also the most difficult.
Thus, the rabbit became the best choice, though he also considered the possibility of it being caught and the consequences being exposed.
He needed to fabricate a person in the final moments; whether he could escape unscathed or not, effort was a must.
He was, after all, cultivating the Heavenly Fragrance Dao Flower, and perhaps with just one favorable condition, they might protect him.
He couldn't be hasty, nor could he act recklessly.
Suddenly, the formations outside began rumbling, as if something had breached the formations and been discovered.
"On the right, chase it down."
A voice from outside made Jiang Hao's heart tighten. This was even with the Heaven Extinction Gu Poison; without it, with his young and naive temperament, whether he could keep his composure was another matter.
He was still too young, his mind not mature enough.
Having made the choice, he had no reason for regret and should instead strive to create a path for his own survival.
When the noise outside ceased, Jiang Hao began waiting again. If the rabbit was caught, they would soon come for him.
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before there was a knock on the door.
Thud, thud!
"Junior Brother Jiang, your actions have been exposed; I can save you."
An unfamiliar voice came from outside.
Hearing this, Jiang Hao's heart clenched, a feeling of helplessness washing over him.
Had the rabbit been caught?
When he thought to reply, he suddenly paused.
Then he questioned, "What do you mean?"
"That should be clear to you; this is your only chance. Will you seize it?" the voice outside continued.
Jiang Hao felt a sense of relief internally, remaining silent as he chose to ignore the voice. According to the person outside, they didn't know about the rabbit.
Since they were unaware, he couldn’t be exposed; this person might be from the Law Enforcement Hall, trying to trick him.
With a sigh heard outside followed by a few threatening words, the person departed.
Jiang Hao resumed waiting.
In the darkness, with no sound nor anyone to converse with, Jiang Hao sat still, simply waiting.
The next day.
When he opened his eyes, he found another figure beside him, greatly surprising him.
Turning, he saw a woman in red, gazing intently at the small hole.
Upon seeing Jiang Hao awake, she shifted her gaze to him and said, "You really enjoy dreadful environments, don’t you? From mines to these dark little rooms."
Seeing it was Hong Yuye, Jiang Hao felt relieved, standing up and greeting respectfully, "Greetings, Senior."
He didn't know how she'd come in, but her entry was no surprise.
With a wave of her hand, Hong Yuye conjured a new chair, along with a pot and some water.
Sitting down, she took out a cup, speaking softly, "Did you bring your tea?"
"I did," Jiang Hao replied promptly, starting to prepare the tea.
If the rabbit hadn't appeared yesterday, perhaps Hong Yuye might have been his saving grace now.
