"Runsheng, time for a meal and a rest."
"Alright."
Li Zhuiyuan and Runsheng settled themselves on a long, flat stone.
Runsheng opened his climbing bag, taking out food and drinks, and laid them out in front of him.
He turned to the silly man ahead and called out, "Come and eat!"
The silly man turned around, grinning and mimicking a little swallow, darting this way and that before finally landing across from Li Zhuiyuan and sitting down.
All along the way, the silly man had been joyful and excited, singing and dancing without feeling the least bit tired.
Runsheng lit a "cigar" and grabbed a pack of compressed biscuits, enjoying his meal.
The silly man, watching Runsheng eat so happily, was filled with curiosity, and drool began to trickle down his chin.
Runsheng offered him a bite, asking, "Want a taste?"
The silly man took it, imitating Runsheng’s actions, biting down on the unlit end.
However, after a couple of chews, he grimaced, his expression sour.
“Peh! Peh! Peh!” The silly man spat it out, gagging.
Runsheng handed him a bottle of water.
The silly man took a sip, tilted his head back to rinse his mouth but forgot to spit it out, swallowing instead.
His face looked even more pained afterward.
