Chronicles of Heaven

Chapter 17 Lord

A strong gust of wind swept across the river, causing waves several meters high to surge.

Underneath the water, a massive dark shadow could be faintly seen, accompanied by a low growl.

Apart from the river horses, there were many terrifying beasts hidden within this thousand-mile river that crossed the basin. Nobody knew what lay beneath the water, and the unknown always sparked fear in people's hearts.

In the black shuttle-like object, three youths were desperately rowing, and in a short amount of time, they had approached the riverbank.

Suddenly, a long waterline appeared behind them. Accompanied by a deep roar, the water's surface within a few meters rose abruptly, and a ferocious mouth lurked beneath, biting fiercely at the black shuttle object.

The three youths shouted in alarm and jumped up, scrambling onto the shallow riverbank, breaching it with mud and water.

With a crisp crack, the black shuttle-like object was crushed in one bite.

The underwater beast disappeared, and nobody could catch a clear glimpse of its true form. All that remained on the water's surface were the shattered remains of the shuttle-shaped object, floating for a while before being engulfed by the waves.

On the riverbank, the first to reach shore were four Ox Clan warriors and eight sturdy Human men, along with a black-clothed girl whom they protected as they swiftly fled.

The three youths held straight knives, their faces fierce as they steadily pursued the black-clothed girl and her group.

Although they had an absolute advantage in numbers, the black-clothed girl and her companions were clearly in a disadvantaged position. They hurriedly fled into the depths of the basin without daring to confront the three youths.

The youth who had just shouted called out hoarsely, "I told you all that you would die! You can't escape!"

Due to having reached the riverbank earlier, the black-clothed girl and her group had already escaped several hundred kilometers. The land here was fertile and soft, covered in moss and vines, leaving behind traces as they passed. The three youths easily caught up with them.

Not to mention that the vegetation here was not lush, with sparse clusters of mushrooms and sparse ferns. The Mushroom Clump and Fern Grove barely reached the chests of the two-meter-tall Ox Clan warriors, and their robust bodies could be easily seen from several kilometers away.

Several metal spiders hidden in the Mushroom Clump stared at the two groups from afar, their crimson eyes shimmering with eerie light. They were limited to the vicinity of the Ancient Divine Armory and had already surpassed their range, but it didn't stop them from monitoring these intruders.

In front of these metal spiders, Wu Tie was covered in large fern leaves, crawling cautiously among a clump of ferns.

"This armor is really good, but it's too easily noticeable with its pale color." Wu Tie muttered as he lay on the ground.

This tight-fitting armor was excellent in terms of defense and comfort, feeling like a second layer of skin. However, its pale color stood out too much, especially its pristine property, making it impossible for Wu Tie to even cover it with mud.

He could only use the method taught by Old Tie, wrapping his entire body with fern branches as camouflage.

The two groups of people were getting closer and closer. Gradually, the black-clothed girl and her group were about to pass diagonally in front of Wu Tie, and Wu Tie finally got a clear view of the black-clothed girl's appearance.

She wore an exquisite black long dress made of a delicate fabric that Wu Tie had never seen before. The material was smooth and shiny, clearly valuable.

The girl wore accessories made of green gemstones around her neck and wrists, the faint green light enhancing her snowy-white complexion.

Her long black hair flowed like a waterfall, gently cascading behind her. The girl had picturesque features, and her lips were adorned with a light purple color that exuded an indescribable charm.

Wu Tie suddenly felt a bit thirsty. This was the first time he had seen such a beautiful member of his own race.

No... This was the first time Wu Tie had seen a real member of the opposite sex.

Unknowingly, Wu Tie felt his heart beat faster, his blood flowing faster. His face flushed, and cold sweat dripped from his palms and soles of his feet.

One of the metal spiders suddenly looked at Wu Tie, and fine red lights fell upon him, reflecting his current physical condition back to the Ancient Divine Armory.

Swiftly moving, due to the presence of the black-clothed girl, the group in front was running at a slower pace. Meanwhile, the three youths leaped through the Mushroom Clump and Fern Grove like agile monkeys, swiftly pursuing them.

Several times, poisonous insects and snakes attempted to take a bite at the three youths, but with a flash of their knives, those poisonous spiders, lizards, rats, and snakes were all chopped in half.

Wu Tie's pupils contracted suddenly. The knife skills of these three youths were terrifying!

Subconsciously, he judged that even with his current spear skills, he probably wouldn't be able to parry a single knife strike.

Suddenly, the black-clothed girl let out a light groan. Her foot slipped and landed on a moss-covered round stone. Even from several kilometers away, Wu Tie heard the crisp sound of her ankle joint snapping.

Her ankle was dislocated, and the black-clothed girl fell to the ground, crushing numerous small mushroom and fungi, leaving behind the fluorescent juice residue from the broken night luminous mushrooms on her messy body.

The group in front abruptly stopped their escape. Instead of helping the black-clothed girl, they quickly formed a small defensive formation under the command of an Ox Clan man with a golden ring in his nose, protecting the girl from behind.

The three youths chasing from behind came to a halt a couple hundred meters away from the black-clothed girl's group. Their sprint had clearly consumed a lot of their energy, and they were panting heavily, large beads of sweat rolling down their chins.

"I told you all that you would die!" The youth who had shouted swung the knife that was half his height, and with a spin of the blade, he shattered three poisonous funnel-web spiders that had fallen from above.

Struggling to get up from the ground, the black-clothed girl, in a distressed manner, looked at her disheveled appearance, filled with the residue of luminous mushrooms, and her hands covered in dark mud and dirt. Her delicate body trembled slightly as she said in a resolute voice, "You've already killed so many people... You..."

Without even a twitch in their facial expressions, the three youths turned and stared intently at the black-clothed girl. The young man who had shouted earlier said in a low voice, "I said that you all would die! You can't escape!"

Due to being the first group to reach the riverbank, the black-clothed girl and her group had already escaped several dozen kilometers. The land here was fertile and soft, covered in moss and vines, leaving behind traces as they passed. The three youths easily caught up to them.

Not to mention, the vegetation here wasn't very dense, with sparse clusters of mushrooms and ferns.

The height of the Ox Clan warriors was around two meters, and these mushroom clusters and ferns, which were a meter and a half tall, only reached their chests. Their sturdy bodies were easily visible even from several kilometers away.

Several kilometers away, several metal spiders hid within the mushroom clusters, their crimson eyes flickering with faint light as they observed the two groups.

They could only move around the vicinity of the Ancient Divine Armory, and they had already exceeded their range by quite a bit. Nevertheless, it didn't prevent them from monitoring these intruders.

Ahead of these metal spiders, a middle-aged man named Wu Tie was hiding in the fern grove, meticulously surveying his surroundings.

"This armor is really good, but the pale white color makes it too easy to be noticed." Lying on the ground, Wu Tie complained softly.

The tight-fitting armor was of high quality, boasting strong defensive capabilities and comfort, much like a second layer of skin. However, its pale white color was too eye-catching, especially its immaculate nature, making it impossible for Wu Tie to use mud to mask it.

He could only employ the method taught to him by Old Tie, wrapping his entire body in fern branches to provide camouflage.

The two groups of people were getting closer and closer. Eventually, the black-clothed girl and her group were about to pass diagonally in front of Wu Tie, and Wu Tie finally got a clear view of the black-clothed girl's appearance.

She wore an exquisite black dress made from a delicate fabric that Wu Tie had never seen before. It was smooth and glossy, clearly valuable.

The girl wore green gemstone accessories around her neck and wrists, and the subtle green light accentuated her fair complexion.

Her lustrous black hair cascaded like a waterfall, gently flowing behind her. The girl possessed stunning features, and her lips were stained with a light purple shade, exuding an indescribable allure.

Wu Tie inexplicably felt a dryness in his mouth. This was the first time he had seen such a beautiful member of the opposite sex.

No...this was the first time he had seen a true member of the opposite sex.

Unknowingly, Wu Tie felt his heart race and his blood flow increase. His face flushed, and cold sweat trickled from his palms and soles.

One of the metal spiders suddenly turned its gaze towards Wu Tie, and thin red beams of light fell upon him, transmitting his current physical condition back to the Ancient Divine Armory.

Unable to contain himself any longer, Wu Tie leaped into the air, soaring more than ten meters high, before gliding forward gracefully like a bird.

In an instant, he traversed a distance of one hundred meters, then leaped again, flying through the air like a bird.
