One must know that the potential of the human brain domain is limitless, housing nearly a hundred million neurons. It is both mysterious and fragile. Before awakening the Beastmaster Codex, the brain domain remains in a dormant state, regardless of its condition. Once the Beastmaster Codex is awakened, it enters an awakened state.
Intelligence does not directly reflect the level of brain domain development. The percentage of brain domain advancement is counted from the moment one awakens the Beastmaster Codex. An ordinary Beast Master who has just awakened their brain domain through Magnetic Wave Induced Awakening typically sees an approximate development of about 2%. In contrast, a self-awakened Beast Master might have around 5%.
Naturally, the more the brain domain is developed, the better it is, but stability is the key. Throughout history, many researchers have conducted experiments related to brain domain development, and without exception, they all concluded that stability is crucial. If instability occurs, the brain domain could collapse.
Although Qiao Sang had previously recorded proof of her self-awakening and submitted it for admission, at that time, everyone was immersed in the excitement of having a self-awakened special student applying to their school. They were focused on the individual and had not paid much attention to the details.
However…
Chen Shengtang glanced at the Fire Tooth Dog. Since this child was successful in contracting a beast, the issues with her brain domain should not be serious. He thought for a moment and felt uneasy, asking, “Did the person who performed the brain domain test mention anything?”
Qiao Sang nodded, “She said my brain domain fluctuation is significant and told me to rest more and eat more dried fruits.”
That should be fine. If the degree of brain domain fluctuation were too severe, a hospital stay for observation would be necessary.
Chen Shengtang let out a sigh of relief. He definitely did not want the only self-awakened special student to have problems since the school's establishment.
At that moment, the male teacher sitting across from Chen Shengtang casually asked, “You look a bit tired, did you not rest well?”
Qiao Sang shyly replied, “I stayed up all night last night.”
Chen Shengtang was momentarily speechless. “Even though the High School Entrance Exam is approaching, you need to rest properly. You can't stay up all night just for studying.” He earnestly warned her.
Feeling a bit guilty for losing 5000 Alliance Coins, Qiao Sang quietly nodded in response.
Seeing Qiao Sang being obedient, Chen Shengtang’s thoughts shifted back to the brain domain. If all is well, once things stabilize, this child's brain domain fluctuation could reach up to 9%! She would be just a step away from a second awakening of the Beastmaster Codex!
Though it seemed unlikely… Typically, brain domain fluctuations stabilize at the lower or slightly above values.
Chen Shengtang stopped his daydreaming and returned the information card along with the proof of self-awakening to Qiao Sang. He then turned to introduce the only bald male teacher present.
“This is Teacher Zhao; he is responsible for your brain domain testing.”
“Hello, Teacher Zhao.” Qiao Sang said.
Teacher Zhao nodded at Qiao Sang in acknowledgment.
“Don't be fooled by Teacher Zhao’s appearance; he is indeed a bona fide brain domain expert,” Chen Shengtang smiled.
Indeed, it seems that expert teachers in every field often lack hair…
Inside the testing room, having had her first experience, Qiao Sang felt much more relaxed for the second test. She now paid attention to Teacher Zhao’s subtle expressions without letting her imagination run wild.
With Qiao Sang cooperating, the testing process concluded swiftly.
As the door opened…
“Yah!” The Fire Tooth Dog perked up, and in a flash, it happily leaped towards Qiao Sang, causing her to stumble slightly.
Ever since the Fire Tooth Dog donned the weight ring, Qiao Sang hadn’t carried it much. The Fire Tooth Dog also understood it was a bit heavy for its master to hold for long. After 10 seconds in Qiao Sang’s arms, it jumped down.
“You two have a great bond,” Chen Shengtang said approvingly from the side.
This was the first time he witnessed a Fire-type beast so obedient and fond of its master. “Yeah,” Qiao Sang replied with a smile.
All the teachers from earlier had gathered outside the testing room, neatly waiting for Qiao Sang to come out. This elaborate setup made even Qiao Sang, who was usually calm, feel a bit nervous.
Teacher Zhao handed the results to Chen Shengtang, saying seriously, “No problems; it's just not quite stable yet.”
Chen Shengtang reviewed the results, which matched exactly with the proof of self-awakening. Self-awakened special students have their scores adjusted for the High School Entrance Exam based on the degree of brain domain development, but each school has different criteria for special admissions.
For their school, the special admission policy allows for a reduction of 100 points if the brain domain development is at 5%, and 200 points for 6%. However, since Qiao Sang’s brain domain was still fluctuating and lacked a stable percentage, this posed a bit of a dilemma.
But it was not a big problem.
Chen Shengtang had made up his mind. He raised his head and smiled at Qiao Sang, “Your brain domain isn’t stable yet, so we’ll use an average value for your score adjustment.”
Generally speaking, if brain domain fluctuations fall between 5% to 9%, they would stabilize at either 5% or 6%. However, Chen Shengtang firmly decided that her brain domain was 7%.
The other teachers nearby were unsurprised by his statement. After all, she was the first self-awakened Beast Master applying to their school since it opened. The matter of reducing her entrance exam score by 100 or more points was not as important; what mattered was the school's attitude.
As long as she wanted to attend Hanggang Sixth Beastmaster Middle School, the doors were wide open for her!
Qiao Sang naturally understood the meaning behind this. Most ordinary Beastmaster high schools only listed score reduction standards for self-awakened Beast Masters at 5% to 6%. The reason being that in five years, a province might not produce a single student with a brain domain self-awakening at 7% or above for the entrance exam.
Even if there were, they certainly wouldn’t apply to an ordinary Beastmaster high school.
To say she wasn’t touched would be a lie; it meant she could potentially reduce her score by 300 points from the minimum entrance exam score, which essentially meant she was already admitted.
“Thank you,” Qiao Sang said earnestly.
……
After bidding farewell to Hanggang Sixth Beastmaster Middle School, it was only 10:32 AM.
Unlike the past few days, Qiao Sang did not head to Cha Gui Park to train with the Fire Tooth Dog. Instead, she went to the third floor of Wei Lie Plaza.
Inside the baseball training hall, after paying for 2 hours, Qiao Sang led the Fire Tooth Dog into the mechanical training room.
This baseball training hall was meant for practicing baseball, yet Qiao Sang felt it was perfect for training the Fire Tooth Dog’s reaction speed.
The mechanical training room was around a dozen square meters, and it was empty except for two automatic baseball pitching machines.
“Fire Tooth Dog, try to dodge the balls that come out; I’ll be right here with you. If you get tired, just tell me,” Qiao Sang said.
Though the Fire Tooth Dog didn’t understand where the balls would come from, it nodded obediently in agreement.
The baseball pitching machines had six settings, with the pitching speed scaling from the first to the sixth level, going from slow to fast.
Qiao Sang did not remove the weight ring from the Fire Tooth Dog’s right foreleg as she approached the pitching machine and set it to the first level.
Both baseball machines started up, their speed relatively slow. Qiao Sang deftly dodged a ball and then settled down in a nearby corner.
