579. Beyond Things ⑴ “A proposal?”
“Nothing special.”
Taesan looked at the Mage.
“Anyway, there’s nothing really worthy to be given as the 100th floor quest, right?”
“Well… that’s true.”
The quest on the 98th floor was to defeat the Ancient God. The 99th floor quest was to defeat the Usurper, who had swallowed the Fallen God along with several Ancient Gods. Then the 100th floor quest should obviously be even harder than the 98th and 99th floors.
But that was impossible. The Usurper was stronger than the Mage. That was clear.
And yet, they had to give a quest even harder than fighting the Usurper. At least, it was impossible with the Mage’s power. Skipping the 100th floor was awkward, too.
Since it was the end of everything they had been through, they couldn’t just overlook it. So Taesan made a suggestion.
“The 100th floor quest should be something I choose myself.”
“You choose? Not me?”
“Yeah. You can just confirm it anyway, so it won’t be a big problem.”
“Hmm.”
The Mage stroked his chin and thought for a moment about Taesan’s proposal. Then he quickly made up his mind.
“Alright.”
The Mage nodded.
“I’ll accept it.”
It wasn’t really a problem since the decision was up to the Mage anyway. If Taesan brought a reasonable trial, he would just accept it.
“So, do you have something in mind?”
