The battle for the City of Silver lasted only a day before it fell. The commander of the Enwei Demon Kingdom army was slain, and they suffered around twelve thousand casualties. All surviving troops swiftly retreated to the south.
They dared not stop, not even to carry sufficient provisions, for they had to run as far as possible before Princess Viola's army could catch up. After all, if they fought so poorly with the advantage of city walls, their casualties would be far greater than twelve thousand if they were intercepted on the open plains.
This retreat also signified the end of Viola's planned pincer offensive. The Enwei Demon Kingdom forces that failed to withdraw from the central region had their supply lines cut and were completely encircled. And that was not the end of it.
Since the Enwei Demon Kingdom did not share a border with the Avarus Demon Kingdom, their army had originally traveled through Luxuria or used transport ships to reach the eastern coast of Avarus to deliver supplies. The sudden rout left them with insufficient transport ships to bring everyone home.
