“Relay my orders.”
Kong Sai’s expression twitched slightly. “The border prison is of utmost importance; we cannot afford failure. Everyone in the Central Command, retreat to the Despair Tier and defend the sacred relic!”
“And…” He paused, grinding the words out through clenched teeth, “Release the Dragon of the Underworld River, buy us some time!”
Soon enough, the blaring sound of horns resounded once more.
Within the city, collapse echoed as a colossal figure emerged from the swirling dust and smoke.
It unfolded its eerie scaled wings, blotting out the sun and sky.
Its roar shook heaven and earth.
The first to falter were surprisingly the angelic legions still resisting fiercely nearby.
Their formations wavered, then began scattering in panic.
“The Dragon of the Underworld River…”
“Are they mad?”
“We’re still here! Why is the Central Command not sending any signals?”
“Kong Sai!!!”
Within the boiling river of molten lava, chains loosened as the angels’ liberation took effect.
From the flames rose giant dragons draped with dried corpses and twisted faces.
They opened their jaws, choosing their victims to devour.
No distinction was made between angels or demons.
Within their eyes remained only raw hunger and greed—a ravenous feast.
The demons’ assault abruptly halted.
