Kill them all and leave? The idea wasn’t impossible. That was simply reality.
For Enkrid, Sinar, and Audin, killing the five before them was hardly a challenge. Even if one of the five seemed to be at the level of an apprentice knight, that person posed no threat at all. Enkrid alone could cut them down cleanly without letting a single one escape.
Alma’s eyebrows twitched at Enkrid’s question. Kill them all?
Who? Me?
Hadn’t he kept me alive because of the Church’s watchful eyes?
“What?”
A flustered Alma spat out the single word but couldn’t continue. Shilma was the same. Though a sense of divine mission burned in his bloodshot eyes, he wondered whether any of this made sense.
He hadn’t expected words like that. It was beyond prediction, something completely unthinkable. To dare murder Church people to silence them.
Besides, wasn’t it a foregone conclusion that everyone would die if the man in front of them decided to act? Enkrid didn’t particularly exert any aura. He simply spoke in a flat, calm tone.
But the weight behind those words was different. The infamous name of the Knight of the Iron Wall, and the attitude he showed now. If he spoke, he would follow through; if he couldn’t, he wouldn’t have said it in the first place.
