‘I think it’s time to move on to the next step.’
“Whee-whoo-whooee.”
Rem walked, whistling a tune.
‘If I really push him.’
It was because he was quite pleased with how the Platoon Leader had returned. He was excited at the thought of going back and tormenting Enkrid. Maybe he could even advance to the next stage of the Heart of the Beast?
To think he was this excited about passing on a secret technique he wouldn't teach a continental bastard even for a mountain of gold coins.
‘Strange, so strange.’
Enkrid was a truly strange man. He didn't really do much of anything. And yet, you couldn't hate him.
You just couldn't. He had a way of making you want to look after him. Was it because of how he earnestly swung his sword every day? Or was it his personality, how he quietly took on all the chores without a single complaint?
It was hard to give a specific reason. Though those things were part of it.
‘I just like the guy.’
You meet people like that in life. People you like for no particular reason.
‘Though I never thought I'd feel this way about a continental bastard.’
Rem stopped walking and called out to Audin, who was blocking his way.
“Hey, Big Guy. You're always praying, can't you use that divine power of yours or something? Can't you do something about the Platoon Leader's wrist?”
“Shall I tear your mouth open? Brother?”
