Just for a single moment.
‘I saw it.’
A way to catch Frokk, a way to kill him, a path to victory. Letters were carved into the signpost, and a path appeared before my eyes. Wouldn't this make for another satisfying today?
In preparation for the repeating today, I had taken a full day's rest to maintain a perfect state. Now, I just needed to die and start today anew. Frokk's sword did not fall.
His killing intent and fighting spirit were the same. The blade did not move. It stopped short in mid-air as if someone had caught it.
Hmph.
Frokk repeatedly puffed up his cheeks and then let them sink.
‘Why?’
In Frokk's line of sight, unseen by Enkrid, behind the human who had cut off his arm. There was a panther with eyes like a deep blue lake.
Lake Panther.
In some regions, they were treated as spirit beasts, sometimes even revered like guardian spirits. Frokk was not the type to care about such things. To them, a beast was just a beast.
In other words, he hadn't stopped just because a mere Lake Panther was glaring at him.
‘Dammit.’
Frokk cursed inwardly. His smooth skin did not sweat; instead, it secreted a similar viscous fluid. It was a physical change in Frokk that appeared when he was tense.
