A delegation from Hong Kong’s film world visiting Beijing.
The trip was led by He Guanchang, accompanied by more than ten owners of small and medium companies such as Wu Siyuan and Chen Xunqi, plus Cheng Long, Hong Jinbao, Huang Baiming, Xu Ke, Shi Nansheng and others — twenty-six people in all.
The visit would last a week.
New Art City officially closed down earlier this year, but Golden Princess still hung on, and there was a rising company called Debao.
Still, all of them had been put on the blacklist and had no qualification to participate.
When the plane touched down and they stepped out of the airport, everyone had the same reflex: “Brr!”
“It’s so cold!”
It was March and beginning to warm up, but daytime temperatures were still only in the teens.
Most of them were in the capital for the first time and had never felt northern cold.
Officials from the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office accompanied them; outside they saw a huge banner that read “Warmly Welcome Friends from Hong Kong’s Performing Arts Circles.”
“Welcome, welcome!”
